Margaret Thomason
Margaret served the public in Paris, Illinois for 20 years as a Realtor. Eight of those years she owned and brokered A-1 Realty with 8 agents working for her. She also served 8 years as an elected official on the City Council. She was employed for several years as a hostess on bus trips for Edgar County Bank and Trust in Paris. Prior to those occupations, she worked as a stenographer at the State of Illinois Division of Highways and as personal secretary for Edgar County Superintendent of Highways. She has now decided to return to the Real Estate Industry and relocate to the Champaign area.
She has three very successful children. Her son, David, and his wife, Bethann, reside in Broken Arrow (Tulsa), Oklahoma with their four children. David graduated from Anderson University and is Sales Manager at Jackie Cooper Imports overseeing the Nissan Division. Her daughter, Rhonda, and her husband, Trent Cloin, both graduates of Rhema Bible College of Tulsa, Oklahoma, reside in Tolono, Illinois with their daughters and pastor Midwest Believers Church of Urbana. Margaret’s youngest daughter, Kathy Thompson, graduated with a Masters Degree from the U of I and resides in Champaign, with her friend Dr. Lynn Dale. Kathy is employed at Bella Vein Center in Champaign.
Margaret is blessed with a great husband, Martin, who is retired from Eli Lily Company and will be doing home repairs and remodeling. She has been privileged to be active in various local organizations in Paris, such as the Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Paris, Altrusa, BPW and HCE as well as several Realtor Committees and East Central Illinois Board of Realtors. She also served several years as a Board Member at Grace Fellowship Church in Paris. She was honored as Realtor of the year, along with several other recognitions from the East Central Illinois Board of Realtors. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, golfing and in general , just meeting people, as well as being active at Midwest Believers Church of Urbana. She is especially thankful for her wonderful children and grandchildren, and husband, Marty as well as the good health to enjoy them.
